About the Group

Coverage The Essex Bus Enthusiasts Group caters for anyone
interested in bus and coach operations in Essex and the out-county operations
of Services All members receive a monthly illustrated magazine, Essex
Bus Magazine, containing current news and historical features. Regular meetings are held
in Chelmsford where members enjoy slide shows and talks. Group publications
are available by post. History The Group was originally formed in March 1962 as
a local interest section within the M&D and East Kent Bus Club. The Eastern
National Enthusiasts Group (ENEG)
came into being in January 1964, publishing its own monthly news sheet as
well as organising meetings and coach tours. Following deregulation of the bus industry in
1986, the Group changed its name to the current title, to reflect the wider
news coverage now offered. Reflecting
the Group’s heritage, this web site uses an approximation of Tilling Group
green and cream for its navigation bars. To join
Membership is open to anyone aged 18 or over –
you do not need to live in Essex!
