The analysis is always conducted using a comprehensive risk evaluation framework that considers the key non-financial issues, in order to place the evaluation in an appropriate industry, economic and competitive context.
A recent assignment involved a desktop evaluation of a small European passenger operator, using the relatively limited management accounts that were available, on behalf of a potential investor. The evaluation revealed a poor quality revenue base, inadequate cost control and a very weak operational cash flow. It also highlighted that the terms of various loans were not clearly defined - all points of critical concern to the potential equity investor.
